Kyushu Onsen Trip: Yufuin (1)

Winter is yet to come. If everyone has already felt a hint of chill in the air? With the cold weather, the best thing to do is to soak in a hot spring. Kyushu, located in the southwest of Japan, is known as a hot spring paradise due to its intense volcanic activity. Let me take you on a journey through Kyushu to enjoy a relaxing hot spring holiday.

Our first stop is Yufuin. Yufuin is a hot spring town in Oita Prefecture, filled with Japanese inns and luxury hotels. Whether you want a traditional stay with two meals or a day trip to the hot springs, you will find what you need.

Before arriving in Yufuin, we must not overlook the popular "Yufuin no Mori" train. This sightseeing train takes travelers from Hakata to Yufuin. If you land at Fukuoka Airport, be sure not to miss this scenic train.

The name "Yufuin no Mori" comes from the beautiful mountains and forests it passes through. If you're lucky enough to grab a front-row seat in the first car, you can enjoy unobstructed views through the large windows.
