It is often said that Japan is the hometown of Hong Kong people. For those who frequently visit your hometown, how much you know about Japanese religion?
Japan is a country where Shintoism is prevalent, and you can see Shinto shrines everywhere. When it comes to the iconic structure of a shrine, the torii gate undoubtedly stands out. In Shinto culture, a torii gate serves as a boundary between the physical world and the divine realm. Therefore, passing through a torii symbolizes entering a sacred space, and one must maintain a respectful mindset.
