Hong Kong's most anticipated outdoor youth art event of the year — "Standard Chartered Arts in the Park" will return with honors to Victoria Park in Causeway Bay on November 30 and December 1 this year. You are cordially invited to join Mr. Fogg's adventure and witness the scenic spots of different corners of the world!
The "Grand Parade", which is very popular among local citizens and overseas tourists, will be held at 2:30 pm on December 1 (Sunday), starting from Victoria Park, passing through Great George Street and Sogo Department Store, and returning at East Point Road. Ten giant puppets about 4 meters high will step out of the extraordinary journey of "Around the World in 80 Days" into reality, leading a parade of 500 people, including 400 students from 100 local schools and 4 groups of professional dancers, marching through the streets of Causeway Bay, pushing the lively atmosphere to its peak. In the novel, Mr. Fogg and Passepartout experience new and interesting unique customs wherever they go. This year, the artists will interpret this multicultural charm with a new visual art style, presenting the unique colors of the world, such as famous monuments, characteristic animals, transportation, food culture, etc., in colorful and unique carnival works. Large-scale puppet artist Jimmy Tse Chi-ming said that his large-scale puppet work takes the protagonist Mr. Fogg as the theme, and the focus of creation is on the puppet's clothing. Mr. Fogg is dressed as a British gentleman, combined with a steampunk style to increase the fun of the shape. To highlight the theme of the story, the puppet is decorated with a large number of gears and clocks, and the production is quite delicate.
