The trend of claw machines has become very popular in Hong Kong, with at least one shop always nearby. However, when it comes to the origin of this culture, Japan is still the most prominent.

As early as 1953, the Japanese video game company TAITO was established. In 1965, they developed Japan's first domestically produced claw machine, the "Crown 602," which can rightly be called the originator of claw machines.
