"Three Lives" has been on air for several days. This TV series, produced by Johnnie To and directed by his three disciples Cheung Ka-Kit, Wong Wai-Kit, and Lee Tzu-Chun, respectively focusing on the civil servant line, the cartoonist line, and the triad line, is the first TV drama production by Milkyway Image. The story spans from the infancy of the protagonist Lok Chak-sun to his elderly death, with five actors portraying him at different stages. A single thought of his can lead to different outcomes, forming three parallel universes.

The most crucial scene involves the teenage Lok Chak-sun (played by Ng Chak-fung) and the outcomes developed based on which relationship he values the most. Learning of his father's infidelity in high school, he chooses family, becoming a cautious and stability-seeking civil servant Lok Chak-sun (played by So Ka-lok); in high school, being able to meet and understand his first love Lam Hoi-kei (played by Lam Hoi-ling), he chooses love, becoming a cartoonist Lok Chak-sun (played by So Ka-lok) who floats and chases in the sea of paintings with Ah Kei; in high school, going to prison for Ah Lung (played by Wu Tsz-tung), he chooses friendship, becoming a silent and very domineering triad Lok Chak-sun (played by So Ka-lok) after his release.
